Rock Gala - London 1982
On the 21st July 1982 Prince Charle's first Prince's Trust Gala was held at The Dominion Theatre in London's Tottenham Court Road.
The line up Inlcuded, as listed in the programme and as witnessed in the presentation to Prince Charles and Diana, The Princess of Wales Ian Anderson. In fact Tull played with Phil Collins taking the perch on the drum stool.
We had pre-booked tickets in the stalls but were moved because the mixing desk was in the way, we were offered seats to the back of the stalls with some obscured vision, after a bit of a 'discussion' with the theatre manager we got seats upstairs in the front row of the circle. Not bad, but even better when we realised we were literally only feet away from the Royal Box.
Diana was a stunning woman.

July 1982 saw Ian Anderson / Tull assisted by Phil Collins on drums play the Dominion Theatre in aid of The Prince's Trust, Prince Charles' charity for youth.
The bill also included Pete Townshend, Kate Bush in a rare stage performance, Madness, and several other rock notables.
Tull did their 3 songs and then did not appear again, eschewing the traditional 'all-star' finale.
Two of the songs played that night, Pussy Willow and Jack-in-the-green were eventually released on video. Visit our YouTube channel if you have never seen them.
The programme to the event will be uploaded soon to our 'Walk into light' Programmes page.
